Title PARENTS’ ORIENTATION TOWARD the SPIRITUAL AND MORAL DEVELOPMENT OF PRESCHOOL AGED CHILDREN IN MODERN CONDITIONS

Abstract The article explores the content of parents' orientations toward the spiritual and moral development of preschool aged children. It is noted that, on the one hand, the federal state standard of preschool education, adopted in 2013, requires workers of preschool organizations together with parents to carry out moral education of children from 3 to 7 years. On the other hand, the modern parents’ ideas about moral values and their modeling at the early childhood are not studied. The sources of knowledge used by legal representatives of children to gain knowledge of the specifics of the psychophysical and socio-cultural development of the individual during the preschool period, the mechanisms of introducing a growing person to life in a dynamically changing world are not clear. The process of development of readiness to absorb moral qualities such as pride, shame, conscience, sensitivity, sympathy, tact, will, patience, ability to self-control, diligence, willingness to take care of relatives is studies in the article and based on theoretical studies conducted by the author. Parents' orientations towards the early childhood (3-7 years) moral development are analyzed and based on materials of the empirical research conducted in 2016 in the Middle Urals. The moral values, which are under review, regulate children’s interactions with relatives, peers, and workers of pre-school organizations and provide self-development in cognitive, playful and household activities. It is proved that the overwhelming majority of modern parents do not receive any systematic knowledge of the content and mechanisms of the spiritual and moral development of preschool children and are guided by contradictory ideas that are not based on modern science about what moral values mean and how they can be formed in a child at one or another age. Measures to organize parental education by efforts of public organizations and pre-school institutions are proposed in the article.
